SummaryAs a Project Supervisor IT, you will oversee all activities related to Point of Sale (POS) IT application releases to the production environment. You will be responsible for planning, alignment, execution, and communication of release calendar, deployment plans, and leadership alignment, ensuring cross-functional success throughout various projects.
Responsibilities- Maintain Release Calendar documentation, including project dates, ticket information, and business units impacted.
- Review calendar bi-weekly with POS team to manage cross-functional alignment and ensure deployment timing and resources are without conflicts.
- Partner with development teams, testing, and business leads to ensure POS changes are delivered in conjunction with other dependent application releases.
- Proactively address, control, and report issues related to project timelines, including technical code-based concerns and dependencies.
- Compile effective deployment plans and timing with input from development and POS admin teams for deployment tasks.
- Facilitate review meetings of comprehensive deployment planning from release overview to testing signoff and task execution planning.
- Manage awareness related to deployments, risks, and issues to IT leadership for Go-Live approval.
- Establish post-release support plan, including IT and business validation with escalation and mitigation plans.
- Facilitate off-hours deployments of code, managing technical resources, assigning tasks, tracking timing, and documenting issues.
- Initiate and manage pre- and post-release communications with global IT leadership and demand managers.
- Maintain and document releases through the change management process, using vendor resources for assigned deployment tasks.
- Lead and design release management best practices, standards, and processes, educating the POS team on these standards.
- Monitor feedback and deployment metrics, addressing and reporting production release issues.
- Collaborate and manage offshore release manager aligning on release-related activities.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Information Technology/Information Systems.
- A minimum of 5 years of combined technical and business experience.
- Proven ability to apply technical knowledge in a business context to achieve organizational goals.
- Broad understanding of database structure and table relationships.
- Ability to work in a complex technical environment.
