Summary
The Regional Investigator oversees and executes Organized Retail Crime strategies for an assigned region, leading external asset protection programs to reduce shrink and protect people and assets. This role conducts high-impact investigations into customer, seller and vendor fraud, develops cases with law enforcement and retail partners, and serves as an investigative subject matter expert supporting field and headquarters teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead external asset protection programs and investigative efforts to mitigate theft and shrink across the region
- Investigate Organized Retail Crime activity using data analysis, reporting tools and surveillance techniques
- Develop investigative plans and manage multiple cases to resolution, including prosecution referrals and court representation
- Cultivate relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement and other retail partners
- Collaborate with Legal, Regional Asset Protection Managers, field teams and stores to identify and remediate ORC risks
- Conduct static and mobile surveillance and high-level field and fence investigations
- Generate and maintain reporting methods and metrics to improve external theft practices
- Train and coach store and distribution teams on laws, best practices and investigative procedures
- Travel within the region as required (25 - 50%)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent demonstrated experience
- 5+ years asset protection, law enforcement or military experience
- Experience managing multiple internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Knowledge of Organized Retail Crime, fraud strategies and shrink reduction
- Proven ability to develop cases and work with law enforcement on prosecutions
- Strong analytical skills and experience with case management and data mining tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, handle confidential information and adapt to changing priorities
- Meet any state or local licensure or legal requirements for the position
