POSITION OVERVIEW

The SAP Development Manager will play a critical role in leading the technical development and delivery of SAP solutions as part of a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation. This individual will be responsible for driving SAP development strategy, establishing technical standards, and delivering scalable, high-quality solutions across the SAP ecosystem.

The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on expertise in SAP ABAP, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), SAP Fiori, and modern cloud-based development technologies, combined with proven experience supporting full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA Greenfield implementations.

A key focus of this position will be championing SAP's Clean Core strategy , leveraging modern extensibility frameworks, including RAP, CAP, and side-by-side extensions, to ensure solutions are flexible, maintainable, and aligned with SAP best practices.

Working closely with functional teams, solution architects, and onsite and offshore development resources, the SAP Development Manager will oversee technical design, development, code quality, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support. The role will also drive adoption of DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, and AI-enabled development tools to improve delivery efficiency and accelerate innovation.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical leadership with hands-on development capabilities , bringing the ability to translate complex business requirements into sustainable SAP solutions while supporting the organization's broader technology modernization and transformation objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and support SAP WRICEF developments including ABAP Reports, CDS Views, AMDPs, Enhancements, OData Services, SAP Fiori applications, SAP BTP applications, SAP Build solutions, SAP Build Work Zone applications, RAP applications, and CAP applications.
• Analyze business and functional requirements and provide architecture, technical solutions, and technical specifications to support business needs.
• Drive the SAP Clean Core strategy and ensure technical solutions follow SAP best practices and extensibility standards.
• Define and implement technical standards and guidelines for SAP ABAP, SAP Fiori, SAP BTP, SAP Build, RAP, and CAP developments.
• Review Technical Design (TD) documents, build deliverables, solution designs, and code to ensure quality and compliance with development standards.
• Evaluate Change Requests (CRs), assess complexity, provide effort estimates, and identify technical dependencies.
• Coordinate with onsite and offshore development teams throughout the design, build, testing, and deployment lifecycle.
• Implement DevOps practices using GitHub and SAP Cloud ALM to support Agile delivery and improve development efficiency.
• Leverage AI tools such as SAP Joule, Microsoft Copilot etc to improve productivity, accelerate development throughput, support estimations, documentation, code reviews, and technical analysis.
• Prepare cutover plans and support issue resolution activities during and after Go-Live.
• Work with AMS support teams to perform root cause analysis, implement long-term solutions, conduct testing, and track issue resolution using ServiceNow (SNOW).

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Job Description Critical Skills:

• Proven full life-cycle SAP S/4 Greenfield Implementation experience
• Hands-on experience in SAP ABAP and BTP Development.
• Hands-on experience in development of SAP Cloud technologies including BTP, SAC, Datasphere
• Proficient in Clean Core methodology, ensuring extensibility through in-app and side-by-side extensions.
• Development expertise in SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) including CAP (Cloud Application Programming), Build Apps, SBPA and SAP UI5/Fiori applications.
• Experience with SAP Application Interface Framework (AIF) for monitoring and error handling.
• Enablement of DevOps with CI/CD pipelines for SAP environments using Azure DevOps/Github
• · Proven experience in leveraging AI and automation enablement within SAP systems
