Job Description

Summary

Lead implementation of strategic safety processes for a distribution center, build prevention programs, and ensure compliance with environmental health and safety regulations. Oversee site EHS performance metrics, audits, hazardous waste management, and coordination with engineering and external vendors. Supervise EHS staff and manage program budgets to maintain a safe and healthful facility.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve, monitor, and report on EHS performance metrics
  • Develop and maintain site specific EHS programs and procedures
  • Investigate incidents and evaluate accident trends
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Facilities on new equipment and processes
  • Inspect facility regularly and conduct environmental health and safety audits
  • Implement and oversee hazardous waste program and coordinate with third party vendors
  • Perform air quality monitoring, noise assessments, and regulatory reporting
  • Monitor construction projects for safety compliance
  • Supervise EHS II safety leader and evaluate employee performance

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7+ years experience in Safety or Occupational Safety and Health
  • ASP certification or higher preferred
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste regulations and environmental compliance
  • Familiarity with construction regulations in 29 CFR 1926
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Competency with basic safety instruments
  • Strong organization, time management, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with little direction and strong problem solving skills
