Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to single handedly launch and run a new West Coast showroom for a premium European women’s brand. The Sales Manager will be based in the Cooper Building in Downtown LA, report directly to the Managing Director in Canada, and collaborate closely with a Director in New York. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding the brand’s presence across the West Coast region, with a particular focus on major department stores and independent accounts.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Development
  • Develop and execute strategies to open and expand major department store accounts throughout the West Coast.
  • Nurture and grow relationships with existing independent accounts, adjusting approaches based on market trends and competitor activities.
  • Serve as the primary leader in establishing the brand’s West Coast showroom, setting operational and sales best practices for growth.
Sales & Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at department stores and independent retailers across the region.
  • Consistently review sales performance, adjusting tactics to meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (in Canada and New York) to ensure timely delivery of products and a high level of account satisfaction.
Team Collaboration
  • Partner with the New York Director and Managing Director in Canada to align on overall brand strategy and operational priorities.
  • When needed, provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders to drive sales success and maintain brand integrity.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, integrity, and enthusiasm among external partners and internal teams.
Travel
  • Travel approximately 25% of the time across the West Coast for in-person meetings, relationship-building, and account management.
  • Be prepared to increase travel frequency as the West Coast business grows and expands.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years of wholesale experience, with a strong focus on premium women’s clothing.
  • Established relationships with relevant wholesale accounts, including major department stores and independent retailers on the West Coast.
  • European brand experience is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of opening and growing department store and independent accounts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly, with flexibility to increase travel as needed.
  • Strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to building and maintaining relationships.
