Job Description

Summary

The Seamstress is responsible for performing high-quality alterations and repairs in alignment with Valentino craftsmanship standards. This role supports in-store appointments, client fittings, after-sales requests, and garment refurbishment, requiring discretion, flexibility, and strong time-management. Occasional travel and on-call fittings may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for alterations and repairs for store teams in the market.
  • Complete high-quality alterations in-store and offsite as needed, including hand-sewing, pressing, steaming, and finishing.
  • Fit, measure, pin, and mark garments according to client specifications and brand guidelines; provide on-the-spot alterations during appointments and events.
  • Repair defective merchandise and manage after-sales and client repair requests, maintaining accurate alteration logs.
  • Delegate and track work for the seamstress team to ensure timely completion and maintain a clean, organized, fully stocked work area.
  • Act as liaison between corporate and store teams regarding alterations while preserving garment integrity and source necessary materials.

Requirements

  • High degree of craftsmanship and technical sewing expertise with experience using sewing machines, sergers, and hand-sewing techniques.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions, perform basic math for measurements, and communicate clearly with clients and store teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines while working under pressure.
  • Dependability, collaboration skills, and commitment to delivering high-quality customer service in line with brand standards.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and major holidays, and ability to travel occasionally for fittings if required.
