Seasonal Jewelry Washer

Summary

The Seasonal Jewelry Washer processes and cleans merchandise at the USGDC using the wash line, ultrasonic and steam units, inspects serviced items for quality, and provides administrative and logistical support. The role ensures departmental standards for timeliness, accuracy and quality are met while supporting polishers and other wash line staff. The position requires adherence to safety procedures and collaboration with management and Facilities to operate equipment effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform washing, cleaning, steaming and quality assurance of jewelry and merchandise on the wash line.
• Process, wrap and secure serviced items and accurately track orders for reporting.
• Support polishers and other Product Services staff and flex to related areas as needed.
• Collaborate with management and Facilities to maintain and operate wash line equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures and promptly report incidents or safety issues.

Requirements

• 1-2 years experience in a technical work environment.
• Knowledge of gemstones and proper care/handling of high-value jewelry; GIA or equivalent experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively, follow directions, learn new skills and work in a fast-paced technical environment.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and work effectively in a team under heavy workload situations.
• Familiarity with steamer and ultrasonic equipment and PKMS system is a plus.
