Summary
The Selling Supervisor is a member of the store leadership team who supports profitable business performance and delivers an excellent customer experience. This role coaches and develops the sales team, monitors sales metrics, and helps execute daily business objectives. The supervisor also spends approximately half of their time selling and building customer loyalty.
Responsibilities
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members while fostering collaboration and supporting training programs.
- Monitor sales targets, KPIs, and performance metrics, and share business performance information with the team.
- Model effective selling behaviors, implement clienteling strategies, and support promotional activities and sales events.
- Help ensure a consistent customer experience, address customer concerns, and escalate issues as needed.
- Support merchandising needs, inventory control, productivity standards, and new selling technologies.
- Supervise cash transactions, deposits, and register balancing, and support recruitment and interviews as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and brand standards.
Requirements
- Retail supervisory or comparable industry experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, planning, prioritization, and time-management skills.
- Business acumen and a demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships with customers, managers, and colleagues.
- Ability to operate a register, work for extended periods on the sales floor, and lift or climb as required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and potentially overnight shifts.
- Fashion knowledge and awareness of industry trends are a plus.
