Summary
The Senior Accountant will support finance operations across retail, wholesale and e-commerce channels, ensuring accurate month-end close, reconciliations, fixed asset accounting and compliance with US GAAP. This role partners with FP&A, Treasury, IT and Facilities to capitalize projects correctly and provides analytical support for audits and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries and participate in month-end close activities.
- Maintain monthly account reconciliations for cash, accruals and prepaids and resolve reconciling items.
- Prepare and maintain fixed asset schedules and monthly depreciation entries.
- Monitor construction in progress to ensure timely capitalization to correct asset accounts.
- Partner with FP&A, IT and Facilities to validate invoices capitalized under US GAAP.
- Analyze general ledger activity and corporate general and administrative expenses by channel.
- Explain and support monthly expense variances versus prior year and budget.
- Provide analytical support and prepare audit working papers for year-end audits.
- Perform other ad hoc accounting responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- BS in Accounting required; CPA preferred or parts passed.
- Preference for 3 years of relevant accounting experience; public accounting background preferred.
- Experience in retail or consumer products industry preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, accrual accounting and fixed asset capitalization.
- Highly organized with strong analytical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
- Proactive team player with a roll-up-the-sleeves attitude and ability to work independently.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general ledger ERP systems; Oracle experience a plus.
