Summary
Senior Accountant responsible for performing detailed general ledger accounting and analysis for Retail divisions, supporting month-end close, reporting, SOX compliance, and ad-hoc projects in a fast-paced corporate finance environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and close SAP general ledger for Retail divisions monthly
- Analyze and prepare journal entries and accruals
- Prepare monthly income statements, balance sheets, and reconciliations
- Record, track and reconcile charitable contributions and tax/license transactions
- Accumulate and analyze monthly financial results and prepare variance analysis
- Partner with FP&A to perform close activities and review key drivers
- Assist in process improvements and implementation of best practices
- Maintain documented procedures and ensure SOX compliance
- Support audit process and prepare schedules for external auditors
Requirements
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally mix of public and private US GAAP
- BS in Accounting required; MBA a plus; CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- Experience with SAP and Hyperion or Essbase
- Strong analytical, detail oriented, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams and manage multiple deliverables
- Experience with retail or wholesale accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
