Job Description

Summary

The Senior Accountant at Richemont in Shelton, CT will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in accounting processes. This position requires a passion for accounting and a desire to develop a financial and commercial mindset to achieve strategic outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the financial closing process for month-end and year-end, ensuring compliance with IFRS & Group guidelines.
  • Collaborate with various teams for general ledger maintenance and reporting.
  • Handle fixed asset accounting and related CAPEX reporting.
  • Review and analyze trial balance for assigned business areas, providing commentary for variances.
  • Execute general accounting functions, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Monitor and process adjustments for sales and margin postings across distribution channels.
  • Engage in inventory accounting, including journal entries and balance sheet analysis.
  • Prepare sales, margin, inventory, and intercompany management reports.
  • Analyze and reconcile gift certificates, merchandise credits, and customer deposit accounts.
  • Prepare monthly lease accounting entries.
  • Support unclaimed property reporting and state filings.
  • Participate in process improvement projects to ensure internal controls compliance.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Support ad-hoc accounting projects and participate in system testing.
Requirements
  • Accounting degree with a minimum of five years of experience.
  • Understanding of financial concepts and experience in data analytics.
  • Result-oriented team player with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial systems; SAP experience is a plus.
  • High proficiency in written and verbal communication.
