Job Description

Summary

As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer at Nordstrom, you will play a crucial role in the Enterprise Operations team, providing trusted insights for business leaders to make timely decisions. You will design and test hypotheses, translate complex business problems into actionable experiments, and quantify their impact using advanced statistical methods and machine learning.

Responsibilities
  • Formulate and test hypotheses by designing experiments to solve complex business problems and quantify their impact.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses to uncover trends and apply advanced statistical methods to provide actionable insights.
  • Create and deliver visualizations and storytelling tailored to various audiences.
  • Use ML and AI to streamline data querying and analysis.
  • Serve as a SME in predictive and prescriptive analytics and develop best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to enable scalable end-to-end data and insights solutions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science or related experience required.
  • 5+ years of related work experience in data analysis and insights delivery.
  • Extensive experience with predictive and machine learning modeling algorithms.
  • Expert in SQL and at least one programming language for analysis and automation.
  • Ability to apply descriptive and inferential statistical methods creatively and effectively.
  • Experience using visualizations to summarize large amounts of data.
  • Experience related to the retail industry.
