Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer at Nordstrom, you will play a crucial role in the Enterprise Operations team, providing trusted insights for business leaders across the company. You will design and test hypotheses, translate complex business problems into actionable experiments, and quantify their impact using advanced statistical methods and machine learning. This hybrid role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to support a culture of data-driven decision-making.

• Formulate and test hypotheses by designing experiments to solve complex business problems and quantify their impact.
• Conduct in-depth analyses to uncover trends and apply advanced statistical methods to provide actionable insights.
• Create and deliver visualizations and storytelling tailored to various audiences, effectively communicating complex data and trends.
• Use ML and AI to streamline data querying and analysis, and develop scalable systems to detect recurring patterns in experiments.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in predictive and prescriptive analytics and drive the analytics strategy.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, program management, product management, and engineering to enable scalable end-to-end data and insights solutions.

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or related experience required.
• 5+ years of related work experience in data extraction, manipulation, and analysis to deliver business insights.
• Extensive experience with predictive and machine learning modeling algorithms, including A/B testing and causal modeling.
• Expert in SQL with the ability to write repeatable and robust code and acquire data from multiple sources efficiently.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language for analysis, modeling, and automation.
• Experience using visualizations to summarize large amounts of data and highlight key insights for stakeholders.
• Experience related to the retail industry.
