Summary
As a Senior Buyer - Footwear at Holt Renfrew, you will develop buying strategies and initiatives that align with the Holt Renfrew brand, sourcing the best luxury products to achieve sales and margin goals. You will lead the division, acting as a resource to elevate buying performance.
Responsibilities- Set and manage open-to-buy (OTB) strategies to maximize business opportunities and drive profit.
- Manage inventory and make timely profitability decisions based on performance indicators.
- Develop financial plans with the Planning team and present Seasonal Business Reviews.
- Build product assortment and attend market appointments nationally and internationally.
- Align showroom selection with financial strategy and profitability goals.
- Maintain and nurture vendor relationships and lead contract negotiations.
- Stay ahead of market trends and coach the divisional team.
- Ensure timely delivery of merchandise and negotiate discounts on late deliveries.
- Implement marketing plans and participate in promotional activities.
- Build and retain a high-performing team and facilitate change within the Buying office.
Requirements- Undergraduate degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of proven buying experience.
- 1 year of merchandise planning experience.
- Experience in luxury retail is an asset.
- Sound knowledge of purchasing principles and practices.
- Proficient in Merchant systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Impeccable taste for fashion and strong leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptable and comfortable with change.
