Reporting to the Director, Brand Creative Lead, they will shape and evolve our brand voice, partner with Art Directors to concept integrated campaigns, and set the standard for writing across every touchpoint, from OOH and retail theatre to owned social, paid media, film and eCommerce. They will lead copy across the team and mentor other writers, owning the quality and consistency of all copy that leaves the team. This is a senior role for a conceptual writer with a strong fashion or luxury background who believes deeply in the partnership between words and visuals.

About The Role:

Brand Voice & Storytelling

  • Define, evolve and champion the Canada Goose tone of voice, making sure it comes to life consistently across every channel and market
  • Own the brand voice guidelines, style guide and glossary of terms, keeping them current and easy for teams to use
  • Develop seasonal narratives, campaign lines and product storytelling that build brand equity and connect with our customer
  • Lead naming and messaging frameworks, including seasonal style and colour naming with Design and Merchandising

Concept & Campaign

  • Partner with the Director, Brand Creative Lead and Art Directors to translate briefs into integrated campaign concepts where words and visuals work as one idea
  • Build every idea as a 360 program, writing across OOH, retail theatre and windows, owned social, paid media, film, eCommerce, CRM and PR
  • Write and shape scripts, voiceover and on-screen copy for brand films, product films and social video
  • Lead brainstorms and bring big ideas to the table, not just the words that support them
  • Present and sell ideas to creative leadership and cross-functional partners with clarity and a strong rationale

Craft & Quality

  • Set a high bar for language, voice, rhythm and narrative structure across all consumer-facing work
  • Act as final copy review on the team's work, from headlines and long form editorial to product copy, email and social
  • Partner with Product and Legal to validate product claims and keep copy accurate
  • Work with translation partners so copy reads authentically in French and across our global markets

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead copy across the Creative team, mentoring writers through clear direction, regular feedback and shared craft standards
  • Guide copy priorities across projects, and brief and oversee freelance writers as needed
  • Build and refine the copywriting process and approval workflow within Creative and across the organization
  • Partner with Brand, Marketing, Product, Merchandising, eCommerce, Social, Retail and Communications teams to bring messaging thinking in early
  • Stay connected to culture, fashion and storytelling trends to keep our voice fresh and relevant

About You:

  • 8+ years of copywriting experience at a leading agency or in-house brand team, ideally within fashion, luxury or premium consumer brands
  • Proven experience leading copy on integrated, 360 campaigns from concept through to execution across OOH, retail, social, paid media and film
  • Exceptional storytelling ability, with a demonstrated mastery of voice, tone and narrative craft
  • A strong conceptual thinker who can take a brief and find multiple compelling ways to solve it
  • Experience writing for film and motion, including scripts and voiceover
  • Experience developing or owning a brand voice and style guide
  • Experience leading copy on projects and mentoring other writers
  • A portfolio that shows produced, integrated campaign work and range, from big brand ideas to product storytelling. Portfolio required with application
  • A strong understanding of the luxury fashion customer and product storytelling
  • Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • A confident presenter and collaborator who works well with all levels of internal and external partners
  • Organized and solutions-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities and tight timelines
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
  • Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Advertising or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid, based at our Toronto head office
