Job Description

Summary

As a Senior Data Analyst in Stores & Finance at Nordstrom, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company's vision to be the best data-driven fashion retailer. You will partner with various teams to optimize store locations and experiences, leveraging data to provide an omni-channel experience for customers. Your insights will directly inform store optimization and strategy, allowing customers to 'Feel Good and Look Their Best.'

Responsibilities
  • Use storytelling to present data clearly and engagingly to audiences with varying technical expertise.
  • Provide high-quality data visualizations through automated dashboards and ad-hoc reports.
  • Manage and balance projects across competing priorities to maximize business value.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to define success and develop measurement frameworks.
  • Present results to stakeholders and guide them in using insights effectively.
  • Use advanced analytical and statistical practices to create actionable insights.
  • Deliver high-quality solutions and recommendations independently and collaboratively.
  • Mentor junior team members on analytics, storytelling, and communication best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Data Science and Analytics.
  • Strong coding skills in at least one statistical or programming language (e.g., R, Python).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Fluency with descriptive and inferential statistical techniques.
  • Proficiency in extracting large data sets using SQL.
  • Experience managing large projects or workstreams.
  • Strong critical thinking and storytelling skills.
  • Experience in retail industry analytics is preferred.
