Senior Engineer - Monetization Team

A Senior Engineer at Nordstrom Technology is a key technical driver responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining end-to-end technology solutions. The Senior Engineer will lead high-impact technical initiatives and help shape the design, development, and optimization of ad tech platforms.

• Implement complex software solutions that satisfy business objectives with high quality.
• Influence standards around security and best practices.
• Participate in design and code review to ensure the quality and testability of feature code.
• Advocate for the continuous improvement of code quality and development processes.
• Lead team projects with a focus on measurable outcomes and customer experience.
• Provide mentoring to other engineers on best engineering practices and quality.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities.
• Deliver full-stack solutions including design, implementation, and support.
• Work across the full stack of technologies including Web UI, APIs, and Infrastructure.
• Build reusable cross-platform components for future use.

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science or related experience required.
• 7+ years of professional experience in the software engineering industry.
• Expertise in Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience with RESTful APIs (Golang, Java, Python).
• Experience working with data warehouses like BigQuery.
• Strong experience with cloud infrastructure, including AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Test automation experience at all levels, including Unit, Integration, Regression, and load testing.
• Familiarity with ops tools, logging, and metrics (New Relic, Splunk, CloudWatch).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A passion for mentoring peers, innovation, clean code, and learning new technologies.
