Senior Legal Counsel (In-House)

Summary

Senior Legal Counsel provides corporate and commercial legal advice to internal teams and supports company-wide initiatives. The role collaborates with business leaders and external counsel on contracts, governance, compliance, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and advise on contract interpretation and negotiation strategy.
• Support marketing, real estate, intellectual property, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, privacy, and employment matters.
• Lead legal project teams, identify risks, support investigations and litigation, and advise on strategic initiatives.
• Mentor junior associates and provide internal training on legal and compliance topics.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor or Bachelor of Laws from an accredited law school and membership in good standing with the Ontario bar.
• At least 8 years of post-call experience, ideally in a large national law firm or comparable in-house setting.
• Strong corporate and commercial law experience, including contract negotiation and corporate governance.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
