Senior Manager, Compensation Accountant

Summary

The Senior Manager, Compensation Accountant oversees accounting and reporting for compensation and employee benefits. This role supports accurate financial reporting, compliance, planning, and internal controls while partnering with Finance, HR, Payroll, actuaries, and external auditors.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile payroll transactions and record compensation, tax, bonus, incentive, and benefits accruals.
• Manage deferred compensation, insurance, and defined benefit pension accounting, reporting, and reconciliations.
• Support budgets and forecasts, explain variances, and ensure compliance with IFRS and relevant regulations.
• Prepare pension plan financial statements, lead related audits, and complete Form 5500 filings.
• Document financial flows, assess controls and risks, and support the transition from SAP to Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, payroll, or compensation administration.
• Strong knowledge of compensation structures, payroll systems, benefits accounting, and payroll tax regulations.
• Experience with UKG, Workday, and SAP preferred; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and confidential-information handling skills.
