Summary
Experienced accounting professional responsible for leading compensation and benefits accounting in accordance with IFRS, ensuring compensation-related transactions are recorded accurately and in the correct fiscal period. The role partners with HR, Payroll, Corporate Accounting and FP&A to manage accruals, reconciliations, defined benefit plan reporting, and controls while supporting audits and system transitions.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile payroll (UKG) to the general ledger and record accruals for salaries, payroll taxes, bonuses and long-term incentives.
- Perform monthly reconciliations for deferred compensation, health and life insurance accounts and related entries.
- Coordinate with actuaries and third-party administrators to record defined benefit pension plan entries, prepare plan financial statements and lead plan audits.
- Support financial planning teams by analyzing variances between budgets and forecasts for compensation-related accounts.
- Maintain documentation of financial flows, assess internal controls, identify compliance gaps and recommend process improvements; participate in SAP to Dynamics 365 transition activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA highly preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, payroll or compensation administration with strong compensation accounting knowledge.
- Familiarity with UKG, Workday and SAP; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, payroll tax regulations, benefits accounting and defined benefit plan reporting.
- Excellent analytical, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills and experience with process improvement and risk assessment.
