Job Description

Summary

As a Senior Operations Manager in Supply Chain at Upper Marlboro, you will lead and develop leaders to support the business strategy, focusing on operational efficiency, cost reduction, and general management of processes. You will guide the development of managers and support the selection, retention, and engagement of both managers and employees, enabling succession planning across the network.

Responsibilities
  • Support the business strategy by driving results for safety, quality, and performance while enhancing efficiency and scale.
  • Lead, develop, and grow the performance of a team of about 7 managers and their supporting teams across multiple shifts and departments.
  • Recruit, select, onboard, and train the right leaders.
  • Demonstrate good judgment in decision-making and own the impact of decisions made.
  • Promote equity across the network and within the organization.
  • Meet warehouse financial standards by providing annual budget information, monitoring expenditures, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Drive KPI metrics and facility performance scorecards.
  • Partner with on-site and virtual operational support teams to test, pilot, and implement solutions for the building.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of warehouse experience in a managerial role.
  • Proven time management skills and the ability to prioritize.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in developing leaders and growing leadership competencies in direct reports.
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Excellence in managing projects, programs, and initiatives within a building.
  • Ability to analyze data and determine actions based on improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
