Summary
The Senior Producer, Creative Production leads and manages full-cycle editorial photography and video productions from concept through final delivery, ensuring creative vision, logistical execution, and budget adherence. This role supervises and mentors the Coordinator, Production & Photo Studio and coordinates with internal marketing and creative leadership. The position requires regular in-person work at the Bloor Street West offices in Toronto and may require extended hours on production days.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end production planning for photography and video, defining scope, concept, deliverables, schedules and budgets.
- Source, hire and manage freelance crew, talent/models, equipment, studios, locations and vendors; negotiate contracts and rates.
- Prepare and maintain production materials including budgets, call sheets and shot lists; track invoices and expenses.
- Manage on-set operations, supervise crew and talent, maintain schedule and ensure safe handling of merchandise, props and equipment.
- Troubleshoot production issues, enforce health and safety procedures and secure necessary permits and location agreements.
- Oversee post-production workflows, provide edit and retouch feedback, and ensure timely asset delivery and archiving.
- Coordinate feedback and asset distribution with marketing, web and editorial stakeholders.
- Mentor and delegate to the Coordinator, Production & Photo Studio and support their development and performance management.
Requirements
- 5+ years of editorial video and/or photo production experience with end-to-end management of large shoots.
- Proven ability to supervise, coach and delegate to junior staff and contractors.
- Strong multitasking, attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Apple systems; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Capture One is an asset.
- Experience with budgeting tools, project and shoot management platforms preferred.
- Experience securing permits, managing studio operations and H&S compliance.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in photography, film, production or related field.
- Valid G-Class driver’s license preferred.
