Job Description

Summary

The Senior Product Developer will lead development of private label garment product, drive costing and quality standards, negotiate with vendors, and mentor other developers while working within a hybrid headquarters model.

Responsibilities

  • Develop products that meet cost standards and align with brand aesthetic and design intent
  • Manage pre-production milestones and calendar due dates including prototypes and testing
  • Lead negotiations with vendors on costing, timelines, and minimums
  • Mentor and provide direction to other product developers through the development process
  • Place developed styles according to sourcing strategy and provide recommendations
  • Provide costing rollups for brand or classification at final cost
  • Identify raw material and sourcing opportunities and recommend process improvements
  • Analyze company reports to review business and category trends

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum 7 years experience in product development, design or production in garment manufacturing
  • Knowledge of raw materials and garment construction
  • Experience working with domestic and international manufacturers
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and supervise peers through development process
  • Proficiency in Excel and Outlook
  • Familiarity with a Product Lifecycle Management system preferred
