Summary
The Senior Product Developer will lead development of private label garment product, drive costing and quality standards, negotiate with vendors, and mentor other developers while working within a hybrid headquarters model.
Responsibilities
- Develop products that meet cost standards and align with brand aesthetic and design intent
- Manage pre-production milestones and calendar due dates including prototypes and testing
- Lead negotiations with vendors on costing, timelines, and minimums
- Mentor and provide direction to other product developers through the development process
- Place developed styles according to sourcing strategy and provide recommendations
- Provide costing rollups for brand or classification at final cost
- Identify raw material and sourcing opportunities and recommend process improvements
- Analyze company reports to review business and category trends
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Minimum 7 years experience in product development, design or production in garment manufacturing
- Knowledge of raw materials and garment construction
- Experience working with domestic and international manufacturers
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and supervise peers through development process
- Proficiency in Excel and Outlook
- Familiarity with a Product Lifecycle Management system preferred
