Job Description

Summary

As a Senior Technical Designer Pattern Maker, you will collaborate with Design, Product Development, and Production teams to ensure that fit and construction meet the highest quality standards. Based in Downey, CA, this role requires a deep understanding of pattern making and garment construction.

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain proto tech packs from design sketches to ensure first proto samples meet design intent.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop initial specs for each new season.
  • Include detailed construction sketches and instructions in tech packs.
  • Communicate daily with import and domestic vendors to address questions and concerns.
  • Lead weekly fittings for all samples from proto through production fit stages.
  • Provide fit comments and technical direction to improve garment fit and construction.
  • Provide accurate patterns to cutting and sewing departments.
  • Maintain all grading, construction, and procedural standards.
  • Escalate design changes impacting standards, cost, or aesthetics to Management and Production teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Apparel Engineering, or Pattern Making, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in Technical Design and Pattern Making.
  • Expertise in pattern-making, sewing, and garment construction.
  • Experience with woven, knits, and sweaters.
  • Proficiency in Accumark 8.2 (Gerber) and Microsoft Office.
  • Preferred experience with Photoshop, PDM, and Illustrator.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in proactive problem-solving.
