Summary
The Senior Technical Designer is responsible for approving well fitting, properly constructed garments consistent between factories and aligned with design intent. This role creates, maintains, and distributes global technical tools to support a closer to needle point strategy and mentors technical design colleagues while independently prioritizing workload.
Responsibilities
- Prepare proto and fit garments for review and lead in house fit sessions with cross functional and global teams
- Enter fit comments and product images into PLM timely according to brand calendars
- Add and update construction detail sketches using Adobe Illustrator
- Confirm grade rules in tech packs to ensure compliant fit across sizes
- Maintain and distribute global technical tools and contact lists for each season
- Support pre production approvals and provide tools to offshore technical design and quality teams
- Procure materials and build 3D digital assets for fittings and development
- Support supplier calibration and certification for supplier driven fit approvals
- Collaborate with offshore teams to create a universal global way of working
Requirements
- Degree or certification in apparel manufacturing design or equivalent experience preferred
- Relevant apparel industry experience and knowledge of 3D programs
- Proficiency with Gerber PLM Browzwear and Adobe Illustrator
- Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities with attention to detail and a sense of urgency
- Ability to proactively problem solve and mentor others
- Experience completing data in PLM for tracking and reporting
