Summary
Engineer 1 on the Edge Traffic Team responsible for building and supporting reliable edge traffic, API gateway and security systems. The role focuses on architecting and implementing software and tooling, optimizing performance and reliability, and collaborating with internal partner teams while participating in on-call rotations.
Responsibilities
- Engineer and support critical edge traffic and API gateway systems
- Architect and implement software systems and self service platforms for internal teams
- Measure and optimize performance and reliability of security systems and services
- Write project plans and author engineering level documentation
- Develop detailed test plans and contribute to testing activities
- Communicate effectively with internal partners and vendors
- Participate in on call rotation as needed
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent education and experience
- 5 Years experience providing engineering and operations support of mission critical services
- Proficiency in software development in a well known language such as Python or Go
- Knowledge of APIs web technologies and protocols including CDN Reverse Proxies Caching HTTP TCP IP DNS
- Experience with security systems including WAF and Bot Mitigation
- Experience with CI CD pipelines cloud infrastructure and declarative configuration such as Github Actions and Terraform
- Effective written and oral communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts
