Specialist Network Security

Summary

The Network Security Specialist is responsible for protecting information assets and brand reputation through security technologies, processes and governance. The role supports implementation and management of the information and IT security roadmap, ensures compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and provides incident detection and resolution aligned with SLAs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve security technologies processes and governance to enable proactive monitoring and detection
• Support implementation and management of the organization information and IT security roadmap
• Investigate alerts violations and exceptions to security controls and conduct periodic audits
• Provide security related out of hours and on call emergency support per operational procedures
• Monitor and administer security technologies including firewalls IPS IDS DDoS protection and data loss prevention
• Manage access privileges control structures and resources including identity management systems and two factor authentication
• Work with internal and external auditors to provide evidence and remediate findings
• Maintain technical knowledge through training and review of publications
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with health and safety policies

Requirements

• Post secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• 3 - 5 years of experience in network security preferably in a retail organization
• Relevant Cisco certifications and advanced technical skills in WAN LAN server and network management
• Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP routing and switching protocols and technologies listed in job description
• Experience with Fortinet Firewalls FortiAnalyzer Cisco ISE Microsoft Hyper V VMware and load balancers
• Experience with identity management AD LDAP Radius and two factor authentication
• Familiarity with cloud environments such as Azure is an asset
• Strong analytical critical thinking communication and customer service skills
