Job Description

Summary

The Senior Benefits Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert for Leave of Absence and Time Away programs, supporting administration, governance, and modernization efforts across Nordstrom’s U.S. programs. This hybrid role partners cross-functionally to ensure compliant, consistent program execution and to provide analysis and operational insight to inform decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Support administration and governance of time away and leave programs, ensuring alignment with plan rules and applicable laws
  • Advise HR business partners, leaders, and internal teams on program interpretation and complex leave scenarios
  • Lead and contribute to modernization initiatives including policy updates, process improvements, system enhancements, and vendor transitions
  • Conduct data analysis and reporting on utilization, eligibility, and program performance to inform leadership
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors, Payroll, Legal, Technology, and HR Operations to resolve issues and align processes
  • Draft and maintain policies, job aids, employee materials, and training to improve understanding and execution

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in benefits administration, HR operations, or related field and 3+ years supporting leave/time away programs
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local leave laws (FMLA, USERRA, ADA, state paid leave programs)
  • Experience partnering with third-party leave and disability administrators and managing cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel and experience creating clear presentations; Workday experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; benefits or HR certification (CEBS, PHR, SHRM-CP) a plus
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and communicate effectively with senior leaders
