Summary
The Store Manager at Houston Galleria is responsible for overall management of the store, staff, merchandise, and customer service, driving sales and ensuring high operational and merchandising standards. The role includes full profit and loss responsibility, team development, recruitment, and maintaining strong relationships with corporate and regional offices. The manager leads store appearance, administration, and implements corporate directives to meet business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day store operations including sales, merchandising, inventory, and visual standards
- Recruit, onboard, and develop store staff and conduct monthly one-to-one reviews
- Drive sales to meet or exceed budgets and set individual objectives for team members
- Oversee stock control, cycle and physical inventory, and use Retail Pro and POS systems
- Prepare monthly qualitative and quantitative business reports for management
- Maintain store appearance, grooming standards, and supervise cleanliness and organization
- Handle customer service escalations including repairs, returns, and dissatisfied customers
- Manage payroll tasks, schedules, paid holidays, absences, and personnel documentation
- Implement corporate visual merchandising directives in partnership with Visual Merchandiser
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of store management experience, preferably in a luxury setting
- Business school, university degree, or equivalent experience
- Proven ability to manage profit and loss and drive sales performance
- Strong people management skills including recruitment, coaching, and performance evaluation
- Computer literate with ability to learn various software packages including POS and Retail Pro
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer service oriented with strong problem solving and social perceptiveness
- Ability to motivate teams and build effective teamwork
