Summary
The Supervisor, Loss Prevention provides daily oversight of loss prevention operations and personnel at the assigned store. This role leads and trains a team of Loss Prevention Investigators, coordinates store audit programs, and manages internal and external investigations to mitigate theft and fraud. The Supervisor partners with store management, operations, and law enforcement to assess risk, drive shrink reduction strategies, and ensure compliance with policies and safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and schedule a team of Loss Prevention Investigators to ensure adequate coverage and completion of duties to department standards
- Generate, analyze and communicate reports related to stock shortage performance, investigations and fraud prevention objectives
- Review inventory accuracy and shortage controls to identify risk exposures and recommend corrective actions
- Communicate store audit results to management and collaborate on operational improvements
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, incident reporting and training requirements
- Partner with Store Operations on inventory cycle counts and lead stock loss investigations to support shrink reduction strategies
- Oversee exception-based reporting to identify policy infractions and initiate internal investigations
- Conduct internal and external investigations in collaboration with law enforcement and relevant agencies
- Lead, coach and develop high-performing teams and support security and safety planning for store events
- Ensure compliance with privacy policies and cyber security measures
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Law Enforcement or related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Minimum three years of progressive Loss Prevention experience in a high-volume, fast-paced retail environment
- Current Provincial Security Guard License
- Formal training in WZ interview techniques or related interviewing and interrogation methods
- Standard First Aid, CPR OPA Level II
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with system-based tools
