Summary

Experienced tailor responsible for performing alterations and custom fittings for a luxury retail clientele in a busy store environment. Works with customers to achieve precise fit and garment finish while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of alterations including hemming, taking in and letting out seams, and resizing garments
• Conduct fittings with customers to assess fit and recommend adjustments
• Create or modify patterns for complex alterations
• Press and finish garments to ensure professional presentation
• Maintain sewing machines and tailoring equipment in good working order
• Keep accurate alteration tickets and customer measurement records
• Advise customers on fabric care and garment construction as it relates to alterations

Requirements

• Minimum three years of professional tailoring or alteration experience
• Proficiency with industrial sewing machines and hand sewing techniques
• Strong eye for detail and precise measuring skills
• Ability to work directly with customers in a retail setting
• Knowledge of garment construction and fabric behavior
• Good communication and customer service skills
