Job Description

Summary

The Tailor provides skilled alterations and fittings to ensure customers receive properly tailored garments within the store's Alterations & Tailor Shop. The role involves measuring and fitting customers, performing sewing and pressing work, and maintaining department productivity and service standards. The tailor collaborates with the store team and uses store technology to manage alteration requests.

Responsibilities

  • Measure customers and fit garments, marking areas requiring alterations
  • Perform and complete sewing alterations and customer fittings on time according to store guidelines
  • Meet department and individual productivity goals while following proper processes and procedures
  • Use store technology to track and organize customer alteration orders
  • Educate customers and coworkers on fit, construction, and proper garment care

Requirements

  • Previous fitting, tailoring, and sewing experience; preferred minimum of 2-3 years
  • Clear, professional communication with coworkers and customers
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to safely operate sewing and pressing machinery and standard alterations equipment
  • Flexibility to work a schedule based on business needs
