Job Description

Summary

The Women’s and Homme Tailor performs high-quality alterations, repairs, pressing, and fittings for both men’s and women’s luxury garments, supporting the boutique selling ceremony and maintaining workshop standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality workmanship to ensure proper fit for men’s and women’s garments
  • Respond to client questions about alterations, fit, repair, cleaning, and care and make recommendations
  • Accurately mark, pin, and complete alterations according to client schedules
  • Perform pressing and repair of garments when appropriate
  • Maintain orderly appearance and stock of the tailor shop and supplies
  • Keep clients altered and unaltered merchandise neat and organized
  • Ensure sewing machines, pressers, and steamers are well-maintained
  • Deliver elevated client service during the selling ceremony
  • Participate in store meetings and training as required

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a tailor with extensive experience in men’s and women’s luxury product
  • Ability to operate sewing machines and pressing and ironing equipment
  • Ability to read, count, and write to complete documentation accurately
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and follow-through skills
  • Ability to work varied retail hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to adjust priorities and manage time in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle heavy garments and garment bags
