Job Description

Summary

The Tailor provides high-quality alterations and fittings in the store Alterations & Tailor Shop, delivering excellent customer service through skilled sewing and garment construction. This role measures and fits customers, completes alterations on time according to Nordstrom guidelines, and supports the store team to meet productivity and service standards. The Tailor must communicate professionally with customers and coworkers and maintain organized alteration workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Measure customers for size, fit garments, and mark areas requiring alterations
  • Perform and complete customer fittings and sewing alterations according to store guidelines
  • Meet department and individual productivity goals while following proper processes
  • Utilize store technology to manage and organize customer alteration needs
  • Collaborate with the Alterations and Store Team and educate customers and employees on fit, style, and construction

Requirements

  • Previous fitting, tailoring, and sewing experience; preferred minimum of 2 years
  • Clear, professional communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to stay organized, prioritize multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn and safely operate sewing, pressing machinery, and standard alterations equipment
  • Flexible availability to meet business scheduling needs
