Tailorshop Supervisor

Summary

The Tailorshop Supervisor manages in-store tailoring services for luxury menswear, ensuring alterations meet quality and timing standards while leading a team of tailoring associates. This role oversees shop operations, schedules, rush orders, and workload distribution to achieve productivity and customer satisfaction. The supervisor also maintains a clean, safe, and well-supplied work environment and implements process improvements to increase efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Ensure finished garments meet quality and timing standards
• Perform alterations according to fitter marks and handle special request services
• Schedule and supervise Tailoring Associates and manage shop staffing
• Manage rush orders and day-to-day tailoring operations
• Maintain a clean, safe, and fully supplied work area and equipment
• Assess shop capacity and distribute workload to meet expectations

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years leading a team of tailors/alterationists
• Knowledge and expertise altering luxury menswear including jackets, pants, and shirts
• 2-3 years experience using and maintaining industrial sewing machines and pressers
• Strong organizational, scheduling, and team leadership skills
• Customer-focused with a commitment to quality and meeting deadlines
