Tailorshop Supervisor

Summary

The Tailorshop Supervisor oversees daily tailoring operations in a retail environment, ensuring high quality alterations, timely delivery, and efficient shop performance. This role leads and schedules tailoring associates, manages workload and rush orders, and maintains shop safety and equipment. The supervisor drives process improvements to meet store goals and deliver excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee tailoring operations to ensure finished garments meet quality and timing standards
• Alter garments according to fitter marks and complete special request services
• Schedule and lead Tailoring Associates, manage shop capacity and workload distribution
• Manage rush orders and administrative tasks to ensure smooth shop operation
• Maintain a clean, safe, and fully supplied work area and clean equipment after use
• Promote positive working relationships and respect team skill levels

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years leading a team of tailors/alterationists with a focus on meeting deadlines and quality targets
• Proven expertise in altering luxury menswear garments (jackets, pants, shirts)
• 2-3+ years experience using and maintaining industrial sewing machines and pressers
• Strong organizational, leadership, and customer service orientation; able to work independently and as part of a team
