Summary
Freelance Technical Designer partnering with product and production leadership to develop fit and grading standards for luxury garments, manage prototype measurement and fittings, and ensure design intent is maintained from development through production.
Responsibilities
- Create and establish fit for show samples and production garments.
- Partner with design to create measurement pages for prototypes and new versions of existing styles.
- Prepare and launch paperwork and technical packages for carry over styles.
- Measure prototypes on arrival and conduct fittings, relaying fit comments to factories.
- Return pinned prototypes to vendors and request second prototypes when required.
- Maintain detailed proto measurement records and measure show samples prior to try on.
- Review show and production samples with design and production to prepare for pre production sales launch.
- Create size small measurements and launch pre production sales with vendors.
- Lead production fittings for overseas styles and communicate production fit comments.
Requirements
- Fashion design degree required.
- At least 7 years of relevant luxury industry experience.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and Photoshop.
- Knowledge of grading rules and establishing brand construction standards.
