Job Description

Summary

As a Temporary Technical Designer at Nordstrom, you will play a crucial role in apparel development, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with development strategies and business needs. This hybrid role requires in-office presence at least three days a week, with flexibility based on business requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with peers and external partners to align product with development strategies.
  • Develop Tech Packs including measurement worksheets and construction images.
  • Evaluate samples to ensure product specifications and quality standards are met.
  • Communicate fit comments to suppliers and streamline product development processes.
  • Build relationships with suppliers and maintain dialogue regarding capacity and calendar.
  • Partner with Pattern Engineer and Design Team on block pattern development.
  • Conduct wear tests and lead fit sessions.
  • Analyze market research and customer review data for recommendations.
  • Maintain sample organization throughout development and production lifecycle.
  • Participate in special projects and mentor new-hires.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Apparel Design, Apparel Manufacturing, Pattern Making or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in product Technical Design or related field.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Clear, effective written and verbal communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively.
