Job Description

Summary

The Technical Designer is responsible for ensuring fit, construction, and measurement consistency across product lines and delivering development milestones on schedule. This role collaborates with cross-functional and external partners, leads fit sessions, and supports pattern and block development to meet brand requirements. The position requires technical expertise in pattern making, grading, and production fitting to drive products from sample to production.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional and external partners to align outcomes with design intent and brand requirements
  • Create and maintain consistent fit, construction, and construction images for product
  • Develop and maintain measurement worksheets for factory delivery
  • Follow samples through fit approvals to production and ensure fit consistency appropriate to brand
  • Support block pattern development and collaborate with Pattern Engineer and Product Developer on new fits
  • Schedule and lead fit sessions and communicate changes to achieve final fit and construction

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Apparel Design, Pattern Making, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in production fitting and pattern making
  • Ability to demonstrate capabilities through fit test
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office; Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system experience required
  • Full understanding of grade rules and tolerances
  • Strong organization, time management, and clear verbal and written communication skills
