Summary
The Technical Designer creates and maintains accurate tech packs in PLM to guide suppliers and factories in developing samples and production-ready garments. The role partners with Design, Product Management, Pattern Making, global Technical Design teams, and suppliers to ensure products meet design intent, fit, construction, quality, and calendar requirements.
Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and review tech packs in PLM, ensuring measurements, construction details, sketches, imagery, and product data are complete and accurate.
- Support fit sessions, sample reviews, product evaluations, and milestone meetings.
- Coordinate with cross-functional and global partners throughout the product lifecycle and communicate recaps, requirements, and next steps.
- Monitor workload, product status, and calendar deliverables to meet deadlines.
- Contribute feedback to departmental tools and processes and support special projects.
Requirements
- Degree or certification in apparel manufacturing, design, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and apparel manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and working knowledge of Gerber, PLM, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to collaborate across global, cross-functional teams, resolve problems, and manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Browzwear or other 3D applications is preferred.
- May be asked to complete an on-site fit test evaluating garment fit, construction, and technical fit recommendations.
