Job Description

Summary

Technician 1 provides on-site technical support at Nordstrom's Newark Distribution Center, troubleshooting computer systems, hardware, and software for employees. The role emphasizes quick, in-person assistance, preventative maintenance, and adherence to service level agreements while protecting customer and company data.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person troubleshooting and technical assistance to end users for hardware and software issues.
  • Use work management systems to prioritize backlog and communicate issues or changes to leadership.
  • Analyze problems, develop technical solutions, and implement fixes to resolve incidents.
  • Perform routine maintenance to prevent equipment failures and ensure operational continuity.
  • Protect sensitive customer and proprietary data by following security controls and practices.
  • Meet target SLAs and demonstrate understanding of project management best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in service management and 2 years' tech support experience.
  • 2 years' experience troubleshooting, testing, or repairing technical equipment.
  • Familiarity with Windows 10/11, Dell desktops/laptops, Zebra handheld scanners, thermal label printers, and laser printers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to read technical documentation, and aptitude to learn quickly.
  • Ability to work in a fast-changing environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to walk, bend, reach, stand, and lift up to 50 lb regularly.
