Job Description

Summary

Temporary Assistant Store Manager (maternity leave coverage) responsible for supporting day-to-day store operations, driving sales performance, and maintaining brand service standards. Role includes coaching and developing sales associates, supporting recruitment and training, and ensuring accurate client book management. The position requires hands-on operational duties including opening and closing the store and managing back-office procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Support overall store operations, business performance and brand image
  • Drive store and individual sales targets and support department sales strategies
  • Coach, mentor and develop retail associates to improve competencies and sales performance
  • Monitor quality and use of client books and work with staff to create action plans
  • Recruit store associates and maintain a pool of potential candidates
  • Facilitate staff trainings and new hire inductions and ensure proper follow up
  • Ensure compliance with store standards and procedures
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and manage customer relationships professionally
  • Perform operational functions including opening/closing, register and back-office management

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of retail experience in a managerial role
  • Strong team orientation, organizational awareness and flexibility
  • Deep product knowledge and alignment with brand philosophy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods and perform physical tasks
  • Availability for closing shifts minimum 3 times per week, at least 3 Saturdays and 2 Sundays per month, annual inventory and full holiday season
  • Ability to climb a ladder and lift packages weighing approximately 5-8 lbs. regularly
