Summary
Temporary Designer to support the Creative Director and design team at the New York City headquarters during show season, managing trials, boards, archives, and coordination with styling and category teams to keep design development running in parallel with fittings.
Responsibilities
- Participate in fabric and trend meetings to align with seasonal direction.
- Maintain archival boards, fabrics, and color libraries and oversee shipments to archive.
- Prepare studio materials including printing shows, headers, and research boards.
- Develop trials for finishes embellishments and construction during fittings.
- Source fabrics trims and materials in real time during fittings.
- Create and maintain detailed style boards for cross team use.
- Communicate changes from styling and Creative Director to design and atelier teams.
- Act as point of contact with styling production knitwear handbag and shoe teams.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of Marc Jacobs runway history fabrics and color standards.
- Strong organizational and archiving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Photoshop and visual communication.
- Ability to work under pressure during show season and anticipate team needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to liaise across multiple teams.
- Previous experience in fashion design development or archival research preferred.
