Overview
Our client, a globally recognized luxury women's designer brand, is seeking a Vice President, Global Wholesale to lead its worldwide wholesale business from its New York headquarters. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this executive will strengthen senior retail relationships, expand distribution, and build a profitable business across U.S. accounts and international markets. This is a full-time, on-site role with frequent domestic and international travel.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute a global wholesale strategy covering channel mix, account segmentation, door growth, and regional priorities.
Own the wholesale P&L, including annual and seasonal plans, forecasts, budgets, revenue, and margin targets.
Use sell-through and account profitability data to guide assortment, allocation, reorder, and markdown decisions.
Build executive-level relationships with U.S. department stores, luxury specialty retailers, and digital partners; open new accounts, particularly in the luxury specialty channel.
Negotiate trade terms, marketing investments, and in-store opportunities, and lead seasonal market appointments.
Manage and expand the international distributor network across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, setting targets and standards and holding partners accountable.
Establish reliable order-to-delivery processes and partner with merchandising, design, production, finance, operations, and marketing.
Lead and develop the wholesale team, including account executives and external sales partners.
Requirements
12+ years of wholesale experience in luxury or designer women's apparel, including 5+ years leading a wholesale business or team.
Established relationships with senior merchants, including GMMs and DMMs, at major U.S. department stores and luxury specialty retailers.
Headquarters-level wholesale P&L ownership and strong planning, forecasting, and financial analysis skills.
Demonstrated success opening accounts, expanding distribution, and growing business with key retail partners.
International distributor management experience, particularly in Japan, Korea, or the Middle East, highly valued.
Experience leading U.S. wholesale for a European luxury house, European headquarters experience, or Italian brand experience is a plus.
Executive presence, commercial judgment, a hands-on leadership style, and willingness to travel frequently.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
