Summary
The Visual Merchandising Planner is a subject matter expert who develops customercentric merchandising strategies to enhance product selling while maintaining brand integrity. This role oversees department priorities, standards, and training programs, collaborates with merchants and store teams, and occasionally visits stores to lead floor sets and styling to elevate presentation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine merchandising strategies aligned with divisional objectives and customer trends.
- Influence store presentations, fixture sets, merchandise displays, and mannequin styling.
- Support store design efforts including fixture development and layout improvements.
- Build and maintain relationships with leadership, merchants, store design teams, buyers, and planning directors.
- Analyze data to inform strategic merchandising decisions and drive business outcomes.
- Research industry trends and competitive landscapes to enhance merchandising effectiveness.
- Collaborate on signing, hangers, sensors, and store communications.
- Manage multiple projects to meet deadlines and business priorities.
- Lead virtual and in person visual merchandising training sessions for store teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in visual merchandising management or equivalent.
- Proven knowledge of fashion trends and visual merchandising styling techniques.
- Experience building planograms and delivering concepts from ideation to execution.
- Working knowledge of Adobe suites; AutoCAD and SketchUp are a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel up to 30% and work weekends and evening shifts as needed.
