Responsibilities
- Measure mark and drill for hardware installation ensuring precise alignment and secure fit
- Prepare and finish hardware components including chemical treatments for antique effects
- Handle premium custom and antique reproduction hardware carefully to avoid damage
- Prepare wood surfaces by filling old holes sanding and color-matching finishes
- Read and interpret blueprints drawings and design specifications for correct placement
- Identify wood types veneers and finishes to select proper tools and techniques
- Inspect completed installations for accuracy function and aesthetic excellence
- Maintain and calibrate hand and power tools including drills jigs and measuring devices
- Troubleshoot alignment and fitting challenges on unique or vintage pieces
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in furniture installation cabinetry or related fine woodworking
- Proficiency with hand and power tools used in precision woodwork and hardware installation
- Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail for delicate high-value materials
- Experience interpreting drawings templates and measurements accurately
- Knowledge of traditional furniture construction and antique-style design aesthetics
- Creative problem-solving skills for fitting and restoration projects
