Reporting to the Senior Content and Localization Manager.
As the English Content Manager, you will be responsible for developing a flawless English content strategy that represents the SSENSE point of view while supporting various business objectives. You will also be responsible for initiating and implementing various strategies for our English channels. The ideal person for this position will be called upon to manage a talented and growing team of revisers, translators, writers, strategists and specialists. In collaboration with the other departments, she will be required to discover, design, revise and manage the projects and narratives directed to our English-speaking clientele.
Responsibilities
English content and localization — 40%
- Ensure written content, especially for e-commerce and digital marketing, stands out in the e-marketplace while reinforcing brand values and company mission
- Analyze the team’s key performance indicators to determine potential improvements to be made as well as solutions for risk areas
- Stay abreast of industry activities, new technologies and best practices in content marketing for English-speaking customers
- Review and evaluate existing content on an ongoing basis, identify gaps and propose strategic opportunities for content development based on experience, experimentation, data analysis and research
- Help plan and conduct usability testing to ensure customer economic value generated by our initiatives, when required
- Idealize, write and conceptualize high-impact narratives that will maximize Roi and results in terms of cultural relevance, customer loyalty and engagement
- Review content that requires more proofreading or supervision to ensure quality standards are met
- Measure and monitor content impact and report to relevant stakeholders
- Align with other content managers to nurture SSENSE brand narratives and ensure core brand values are delivered accurately and consistently
Leadership and development – 30%
- Train and mentor a team of content and localization experts to grow and achieve their development goals while contributing to our strategy and mission
- Monitor, optimize and evaluate the team’s objectives and key results in order to ensure the achievement of its objectives
- Oversee resource planning for functional teams and design an organizational model that can grow with the growing needs of the multi-location business
- Design, lead and facilitate creative workshops to encourage the team to propose, research and develop ideas relevant to the creation of original content
- Work with senior studio executives to create an open-minded, honest, respectful and collaborative work environment for the team and for the company as a whole, ensuring positive staff engagement
Strategy and project management — 30%
- Approve production timelines
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, product, and other content and localization managers to establish targets and benchmarks relevant to productivity, article-to-live timelines, cost optimization and quality; Recommend the adoption of cost- and time-saving processes to our vendors.
- Ensure that special projects and launches are properly integrated into production and delivered fully to the highest possible quality
- Lead business partnerships by recruiting external service providers and specialized consultants; negotiate agreements and rates with third parties
- Oversee the progress of key projects from conception to completion, providing feedback on the latter and the necessary approvals when required

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field
- Writing and storytelling skills; Minimum of five years of experience writing and editing moving and compelling content, preferably in an agency, publishing, media, luxury or e-commerce environment
- A minimum of five years of experience in a management position of a subordinate team
- Good understanding of basic business principles, search marketing, SEO and content strategies
- Proven knowledge of audience development and engagement, as well as distribution strategies
- Exceptional understanding of brand values and ability to develop the specific voice for the market and deliver message effectively
- Proficiency in English grammar, spelling and usage and ability to write texts with consideration of cultural sensitivities
