Accounting Manager, Inventory And Margin

Summary

The Accounting Manager, Inventory and Margin leads inventory accounting and financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP. The role also supports revenue recognition, gross margin analysis, and month-end close activities while partnering with cross-functional teams. This position provides guidance and oversight to an accounting team member.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end inventory close activities and ensure accurate inventory balances, reserves, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Oversee inventory valuation, standard costs, landed costs, obsolescence reserves, and related accounting policies.
• Support revenue accounting and gross margin reporting, and investigate sales and margin variances.
• Review vendor transactions, accounting entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes and internal controls.
• Monitor inventory costing and system interfaces, assist with audits, and support special projects.
• Coach and provide technical guidance to an accounting team member.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• At least 4 years of relevant work experience, preferably in an inventory-intensive business.
• Costing knowledge and Big Four audit experience are preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems and strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
