Alterations Associate

Summary

The Alterations Associate performs garment alterations, resizing, and restyling for merchandise sold in the store. The role supports fitters by assessing garment fit, alterability, and structural quality while ensuring finished work meets quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Alter constructed garments to meet or exceed original construction quality.
• Perform garment adjustments, including modifying seams, shoulders, sleeves, collars, coats, and pockets.
• Operate and maintain sewing equipment.
• Inspect completed work and complete assigned tasks as directed by a supervisor or lead.
• Interpret written and oral instructions.

Requirements

• Experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment is preferred.
• Exposure to a variety of garment styles and fabric types is preferred.
• Ability to read English and understand instructions.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
