Summary
The Alterations Store Support team member delivers excellent customer service at point of sale and supports store operations including order fulfillment and pickup. This role assists customers in person and by phone, maintains department appearance, and stays informed on fashion trends to aid purchase decisions.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers at checkout and over the phone with sales, returns and other transactions
- Provide friendly knowledgeable customer service and support purchase decisions
- Maintain the department by straightening, light cleaning and restocking the sales floor and cash wrap
- Support other store areas including order fulfillment and order pick-up
- Promote Nordstrom gift cards and rewards program to build customer relationships
- Prioritize multiple customer requests in a fast paced environment
- Perform physical tasks including bending, lifting and handling merchandise
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization and follow through with a knack for problem solving
- Proficiency with computers and willingness to learn new applications
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Capability for continuous movement 6-8 hours per shift with frequent bending and reaching
- Regularly lift items up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds
- Ability to perform fine hand manipulation and handle bulky items
